Team Synergy

Neo works well as Point. She has a weak assist game and does not offer much as a partner due to her mediocre assists.

Point

When playing a team with Neo on it, it is highly recommended that you keep her as point. Her aggressive playstyle and many combo loops allows her to utilize assists very well to her advantage. Though you may find yourself suffering from her subpar damage and bad damage scaling.

Anchor

Having Neo on anchor is not ideal. Her assists are all single hits and quick, making it hard to chain combos out of it. Her attacks, however, are mostly long range and can low profile many projectiles, making her good with zoner characters who are trying to limit their opponents movements. To have Neo work effectively as an Assist, you will need to find a partner who synergizes with her and benefits from her weak assists.

Recommended Partners

While Neo is great at applying long combos, Neo suffers from having poor synergy with a lot of characters. Despite others being able to help her combos, she herself does not offer strong assists that can keep combos going. Neo is best suited with characters who have strong range or good armor setups. Adachi, Hazama, Hilda, Yang, Yuzuriha, and Nine are some characters who work really with her.

General Tactics

As Neo, you generally want to play aggressively and be in your opponents face. However, Neo's playstyle revolves not only on just brute forcing her way through fights. Neo is highly mobile and utilizes trickery to deceive her opponents. Properly reading into your opponents will allow you to punish anyone. Her teleport attacks are useful for opponents who have a hard time reading your movement, but are generally bad because of how punishable they are. The C version is safe, but you must be very certain that your attacks will hit. Try to only use your parry if you think the opponent cant turn around and hit you fast enough. Her supers work well as combo extenders and finishers, but they have bad damage scaling so you must be able to properly time when to use them.

Tips and Tricks

- If you rely on the teleport but get being DPd, trick your opponent into thinking your teleporting by using the parry to draw out the dp and send your assist to attack them.

Fighting Neo

  • Many Neo players like to abuse Suspension of Disbelief to chain into combos or to end games when down to Neo. When you think Neo is closing in for this, jump. Jumping typically makes most of Neo's attack miss. But Neo is very punishable when Suspension of Disbelief misses as she will stagger for a second.
  • Jump and maintain guard when Neo starts a taunt for her teleport. It will most certainly cause her attack to miss or be blocked.
  • If she teleports after hitting her parry, keep attacking as the combo may continue and hit Neo.
