Hi, sorry I passed the explanation along to Whatgoat and assumed he would transfer the message along to you.

When HnK and GGML wikis were first developed, it was discussed in the Administrator-only channel that these "kusoge" could/would follow their own style guides independent of the main wiki. At the time, none of the, now commonly used, move cards were implemented and were invented specifically for these wikis. This was actually why they were agreed to follow their own independent style guides as shtkn wasn't fond of the idea of moving other games to them at that time.

With that background in mind, HnK and GGML were following the exact style standards they were intended to use. The input badges might be redundent to some degree, but they were so with intentionality. Mediawiki's developers discourage putting markdown/templating within section headers due to various issues and bugs it can cause, and so the HnK and GGML wikis were made this way to be safer than our normal wikis are. Additionally, the input badges generated by the move card because the "vision" of these wikis is to demonstrate generating content with minimal manual markdown work. Removing the input badges from the template and putting it into the page directly runs counter to the intent that these 2 games were developed with.

With this in mind, there wasn't really substantial quality to gain from changing HnK from its intended design other than matching the newer games on the site, but that was already agreed (in a place you obviously weren't able to see so you couldn't be aware of) to not be an issue.

Sorry I didn't message you directly about it; I kinda assumed it would get told to you without my direct involvement. ~ much love, tarky
