Berserker

Very Favorable

One of Launcher's best match ups. She excels at playing keep away and stalling Berserker's frenzy with hard to approach zoning. She also does well stopping Berserker from safely entering frenzy with buttons like 5A, 6S, 5B, and 5M.

Neutral


Launcher will win most round start interactions with either 5A or 2A. If either of those options are jumped she can cancel into 623M to punish any jump-in attacks afterwards.

Outside of round start you'll want to keep yourself at max 5A distance. This will allow you to set up 5A > 5AA > [5B] > 236M to catch immediate rolls with 236M or delay rolls with 2A.

At 5AA distance 2B will be your lifeline. It is the one move that keeps Berserker at bay coupled with whiff cancels into 5S, 6S or 2S.

From full screen harass with 5B and 2B whiff anceled into 5S or 6S. If Berserker enters frenzy expect a deep jump-in or roll and be prepared to 2S or 4S after 2B respectively.

Offense


During block strings make sure you're spacing yourself outside of Berserker 2B range as this will low profile Launcher's 5S and 6S. If you find yourself too close you can use 2B and react to jumps with 2S and rolls with 4S.

Once you score a hit be sure to end the follow up in either 4S for oki Short for "Okizeme" Attacking an opponent about to wake up after they were knocked down, usually with meaty attacks or mix-ups. or 5M to deny conversionImmediately cancel the recovery of any move using White Damage..

Defense


Be patient. This is possibly the hardest part of the match up where two incorrect guesses on defense can cost you the round.

In order for Berserker to keep up pressure on block after 236M he must leave a slight gap to re-enter frenzy. This gap can be exploited with 623M.

Another exploitable gap is between jA and 2A during Berserker's conversion High-Low A mixup where the opponent must choose between blocking high and low. mixup. If you block the overhead jA then the follow up 2A is not true and can be interrupted with 623M.

A common guard cancel point is when Berserker using 5M (frenzy) in a block string to reset pressure. Otherwise always be aware white damage before considering guard cancel and never guard cancel during frenzy unless you are absolutely sure it will connect.

Brawler

 Brawlerjust pick Grappler instead
Favorable

A match up where Launcher's zoning capabilities shine. She dominates neutral with 6S, 2B and 4M making it difficult for Brawler approach (along with Brawler's slow speed). In addition to oppressive zoning, nearly all of Launchers attacks are multi-hit moves allowing her to shred through his armored attacks. Brawler's above average health and increased defense with clear cube make it difficult for her to close out rounds quickly however this is mostly mitigated by the fact that Brawler cannot get in without taking huge risks.

Neutral


Round start back dash is your safest option as Brawler has nothing aside from his j.S to call it out, which even if he gets the hit he will be too far away to confirm into j.M for continued pressure. Another great option is 9j.A which will stuff a majority of his round start options and push you back safely from his armored 4S and 4M (just be mindful you are giving him conversion at the start with this option).

Once you've created distance you'll want to start using either 2B or 6S to control neutral. Brawler can only neutral crouch Launcher 6S and must respect it in block strings as he has no options to punish her gaps with it. If you force him to block he won't be able to duck 6S giving you powerful frame traps and cancel options such as 4M.

Offense


Launcher's safest block string against Brawler is 5A > 5AA > 6S.

At close range it is a true block string that can lead into a frame trap with 2A if they don't use Indomitable Spirit (IS) against 5AA. If they do use IS you can switch to 2B > 5S > 6M which leads to another frame trap that cannot be armored through.

At a distance he has no options to contest the gap before 6S so this will be the safest way to end your block strings.

Defense


Once Brawler is in it can be a little difficult to deal with his pressure up close. Use 2A as your main abare An attack during the opponent's pressure, intended to interrupt it. button since it's long range makes it difficult for him to use stagger pressure or armored moves. Brawler's j.M does act as a low crush to Launcher 2A and leads to a full punish so be mindful of that.

Launcher's 2S, 4M, and 2M are also great anti-air options that cover most of Brawler's aerial approaches.
