Key Moves


Normals:

  • 5a - One of your fastest normals, its slower than grab, but its imperative for close range pressure and helps you setup, its also jump cancellable on block.
  • 2a - Your main low, its also as fast as 5a, while also being longer, you can rebeat back into 5a from here if you didnt already.
  • 5b - Summons sword forward, covers 90% of the space on the ground. Only neo and chie can low profile it so let loose.
  • 4b - Summons a sword at about instant airdash height, can be a bit scary but the reward for hitting it is very good.
  • 2b - Summons a sword at about a 90* angle, catches double jumpers and air stallers pretty good, up close can end up replacing 4b for anti air purposes and gains similar reward for a bit more effort.
  • 2c - Multihitting low, it isnt low for the whole duration, but its also very easily hit comfirmable.
  • j.c - J.c is your strongest ioh available to you, its incredibly negative on block but sometimes you need that 2000 damage. You can only super or dp after hitting this, so spending assist bar here is a must.

Specials:

  • 236a - Forward wheel is decent tool to check someone jumping at midscreen and further, you can also use this after 2c on block to push someone further away.
  • 236b - Backward wheel is a strong tool for okizeme in the corner or someone you know forward techs. It also functions as a pressure reset tool when up close, only hits at midscreen, then it comes forward towards you.
  • 236c - Forward wheel 2 hits, lets you get a combo from any distance and is almost identical to 236a, except that the second hit makes you +.

Anti-Airs


  • 4a - Your main anti air, it has good invul frames but its incredibly shallow, so you need to be sure itll hit.
  • 2b - Denies a lot of airspace, you can adjust the positioning better by running and pressing it as well.
  • 4b - Denies airdash space thats a bit above ground, good reward, keep in mind its much shorter than the other swords in terms of distance.
  • 214x - You can technically anti air with this, and get insane reward, the main issue is that the startup is too long, but youre trading a safe choice for a high amount of damage.

Round Start


  • Backdash call assist at a delay
  • If youre fighting a tall character (Ragna, Susano, Hakumen, Tager, Azrael) You can also try to hit their head roundstart with 2b.
  • If your opponent upbacks roundstart a lot you can also just 2b

Combos


Nu doesnt get high damage by herself, unless she goes for an insane read. A lot of her combo theory revolves around having 1 meter in order to get more damage and improve corner carry, but only cause it launches. As a result, learning confirms off of airborne opponents or how to setup launches meterlessly helps you do more damage to confirm kills later.

Midscreen


Sample combos from an overhead:

  • j.c j.214bc
  • j.c assist (depending on assist youll route into an iad route for corner carry, or do double j.c routing for more damage)

  • 2a > 2c > 236a > Iadj.a Safejump with an assist call
  • 2c > 236c > 4bbbb > iadj.a > 5aaa > 236a > Iadj.a safejump with assist call
  • 2c > 236c > run a bit forward > 2bbbb > 9j.a(dont let it rock all the way) > j.bbbb > j.bbbbc > wait dont mash it > j.bbbbc > (optional j.214bc)


Corner


In the Corner, Nu needs to keep mindful of the minimum distance on her swords, so some of the normals may whiff in corner, you have to let 5aaa rock all the way and wait a couple frame in order to gain enough distance to get the rest of the route. In the corner she gains access to 5aaa > dl 236b oki, which gives you a nice meaty low that is off screen to hit counter dps with and punish.
